Homework Help please! Must know about Edgar Allan Poe.?

Ok so for a homework ignment, I have to write a short story similar to Edgar Allan Poe's short stories (such as "The Tell-Tale Heart", "Masque of the Red Death", etc.) but I cannot think of a good plot/idea! I need it to be dark and kind of relating to death. If it helps, I'm in an 8th grade honors english cl, so I need a pretty elaborate idea. Well if anyone can even get me started I'll be happy to reward you with the best answer. :) Please try to get your ideas to me before Wednesday, because the story is due on Friday. Thanks!
