Should homeopathy be renamed quackeopathy?
The word "quack" comes from quacksalver which was a term for mercury. The first MD's used doses of mercury in there treatment and therefore, MD's are the original quacks. Homeopathy is usually dismissed as quackery by those who are too ignorant to acknowledge the people who have greatly benefited from treatment. These people wander aimlessly through life letting the media dictate what they should do and how they should do it. Fortunately, many people are intelligent enough to recognize the benefits of homeopathy and realize the websites like quackwatch are meant to convince the un-educated people that alternatives do not work. They try to defend their business of cutting people and prescribing their (cutting edge) drugs like the anti-depressant which cause suicidal thoughts, or the astma medication which "may increase your risk of asthma-related death". As my engineering teacher said: "Common sense is in short supply these days". It is true that no one knows exactly how homeopathy works, but only a fool would overlook all of the successful cases of homeopathic prescribing.
